Getting Started with DWT Web Packages
These instructions will show you how to use DWT Web Packages.
You are required to have FrontPage 2003+.
You may use DWT Packages if you are willing to "start from
scratch," using the included sample pages and content in the web
template. The instructions below will help you create a starter web
site with sample content. You may edit the sample content, delete
pages, add more pages, and rename pages as necessary.
- Save the download (.zip format)
to your computer (note the location so that
you can find it!). You will need a
utility such as WinZip to extract
to a folder. Open the folder.
- Run the installer. In the package
you downloaded is an .exe. Double-click
the exe and follow the prompts to install
it for FrontPage 2003. (The package has
an additional folder which you will not
need if you are starting from scratch.)
- In FrontPage 2003, go to File > New,
then click More Web Site Templates.
- Click the "My Templates"
tab and look for your web
template.
- Specify the location for your
new web if necessary, and click OK to build
the new web.
- You may then open pages from
the Folder List and begin editing
in the "editable regions." We
encourage you to review the template's
instructions for more
information about changing your logo and
using the templates.
